The Cru Bourgeois is a Médoc classification created for quality Bordeaux châteaux that were not included in the famous 1855 Classification.

The classification appeared in 1932, when the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce selected hundreds of strong-performing estates that were overlooked in 1855.

Over time, Cru Bourgeois became known as a category for reliable, well-made Médoc wines offering excellent value.

Many wine lovers see them as some of the best value wines in Bordeaux today.
